Tapio Hedman has been heading Category Marketing in Nokia since the beginning of 2008. In this role he is responsible for the company's long term marketing strategy globally.

Tapio's previous role in 2006-2007 was to lead Marketing and Nokia Nseries sub brand development globally in Nokia's Multimedia Business Group. During 2003-2005 he headed Nokia's global Brand Strategy team. Before that he was globally responsible for Communications & PR for Nokia Mobile Phones during 1997-2002.

Tapio started his career in Nokia Data already in 1989. He took a five-year excursion to lead Communications, PR & IR for Finland's leading brewing and beverages company called Hartwall as of 1992, until rejoining Nokia again in 1997.

Tapio has a Master's Degree from his Communications studies in the University of Helsinki. Additionally he has attended numerous business, leadership and marketing seminars and courses during his career in Nokia.Tapio is also an experienced presenter for various international audiences, ranging from journalists and investors to marketing professionals and agency representatives.

Tapio is married with a son and a daughter. The bigger family comprises also of four dogs as well as a cat. Tapio is very keen on outdoor and fitness activities, as well as enjoys boating in the archipelago of Finland and scootering with his Vespa.
